Adv. at Staples VIII: Back to School

As we prepare for Black Friday and the holiday season, I thought I would update you on what’s been going on at Staples. Okay, so Back To School was two months ago, but hey, I’ve been busy. And so was the store. It was crazy! We did almost double the business that they expected. It [...]

Back to School

Wow! That summer went fast and it is back to school for both kids and mommy! Dylan started 3rd grade last week (the 9th) and Marissa started pre-school today! In addition, Deb is back to work with the kids coming in for the first time today as well (she setup her room last week). Throw [...]

Northside School Update

According to Newsday the 10yr old girl who passed away this past weekend died from influenza. Yes, the flu. The Nassau County Helth Dept beleives it was one of two particular Influenza A strains, but are waiting for New York State labs to confirm. They have a calendar in a folder and each day they color in the corresponding box with the appropriate color. So last year Dylan was a mostly Yellow kid with [...]

Scholl Budget Vote

The annual school budget votes are coming up next week, the 20th, and you need to get out and vote. The Levittown district has trimmed their budget to the point where it is less than a 4% tax increase (down from almost 7%), which is pretty good. And the district, according to the info they [...]

Parent Teacher Conference

We had ours today for Dylan, and it went really well. No surprises, other than the fact that he is making some progress (or better) on every single goal of his IEP! Which is awesome! Oh, and apparently he is a math whiz just like his dad.

Levittown School Vote

Today is the day to vote on the EXEL bond issue. In a nutshell, NYS is floating a bond based upon income taxes to fund capital improvements in the schools. Each distrcit is getting a boat load of money, $7.3 million in the case of Levittown, and all they have to pay is the servicing [...]
