This pissed me off. First off, I do not think for one second that Willie is the problem. Is it his fault that Heilman and Wagner have both had several really bad games? Is it his fault players get injured? Or simply don’t play well? Yes, he is supposed to manage and motivate but there is only so much a single person can do. But we can argue this back and forth for eternity as to what is and isn’t the coaches fault.

What we can’t argue about is the totally classless, spineless, rude, and inappropriate way they went about it. Firing a manager via a press release and e-mail at 3:15am ET is simply unacceptable. You don’t even break up with a high school girlfriend like that. If you want to fire the guy in in a damn plane, fly to LA, and do it in person. The ownership of the Mets just lost any creditability they had with me. This is almost enough to make me a Yankee fan…. well. Not quite, but still, you get the picture.

Shame on the Wilpons and Minaya. Why don’t they fire the GM, after all he is the one responsible for putting together the overpriced- underachieving team?

You will notice that the “Now Reading” section in the sidebar is gone. It is being replaced by something called GuruLib. GuruLib is a website that allows you to catalog all of your media. This means books, CDs, movies, computer games even. All of it. You can scan in bar codes, search by titles, etc. You can organize things by media type or any other way you wish on shelves. Write reviews and even share things, there is a system for loaning books out. Best of all, it is free. So far I have my entire Forgotten Realms catalog up there. n August, They said they were a mediocre team at best.
In September, They said they were done for after two weeks of the season.
In October, They questioned the longevity of the quarterback.
In November, They questioned the longevity of the coach.
In December, despite their turnaround, They gave up on them.

Yet, in January the New York Giants were still playing football, despite all that They had said and predicted. But They still had no faith in them.

In the Wild Card game vs Tampa, They said the Bucs would win. They were wrong.

Then it was off to face America’s Team. The #1 NFC playoff seed. The almighty 13-3 Dallas Cowboys who had beaten them 2 times during the season. They said it couldn’t be done, hell it had NEVER been done. The #1 NFC seed (since they started the current playoff format in 1990) had NEVER lost the Divisional Playoff game. No team in the history of the NFL had ever won 9 games straight on the road. The ‘Boys were 7pt favorites. Jerry Jones had already given out player tickets to NFC Championship game that everyone assumed would be played in Dallas against the Green Bay Packers.

So there I sat, with my fellow fans

and watched as the NY Giants showed the world that

WRONG!

GO GIANTS!

Meanwhile, I want to know what was said to the NY GIants defense during halftime last week in DC. For 2.5 games the NY Giants defense could not have stopped a pee-wee football offense from running all over them. They were pitiful in Weeks 1 and 2 against Dallas and Green Bay. Hell, they made Brett Farve look like he was still in his prime. Then last week they let the Redskins score 17 points in the first half and when they went in at halftime I thought “well, this game is over”. Then they came out and shut them down. I was like, where the hell did these guys come from?! And again this week against the Eagles who scored over 50pts last week, they destroyed them.

12 Sacks!!! 12!!! That ties an NFL record. And Osi had 6 of them, which beats the franchise single game record. Who the hell are these guys? All I know is that if the defense keeps playing like that for the rest of the season they may never lose again.

Sometimes it is tough to be a NY sports fan. The Mets have lost 4 straight games, the last two by simply playing like the Bad News Bears. The Giants and the Jets have started the season 0-2. And the Yankees are in 2nd place, which to me is a good thing. Oh, and I lost the first week in the GruntvillE Fantasy Football league, but since we only ended up with 4 players, we have all secured playoff berths already!

Anyone who know me knows that I am  NY Mets fan, and it is a good time to be a Mets fan being that they are 16 games over .500 and in first place. And I know exactly who is responsible for, Willie Randolph, the Manager. It seems that no matter what comes at them, the Mets still manage to win. No Pedro, no problem. Beltran out for a while, Delgado injured, Lo Duca out, I mean they have had injuries at just about every position. Yet Randolph keeps figuring out how to move players around to win. It is quite impressive if you ask me.

What isn’t impressive is that it took so long for a team to give Willie a chance at being a manager. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I am happy nobody else snapped him up so that he ended up with the Mets. But it is travesty that it took so long.

Just wanted to post an update. I didn’t get to upload any pics this past weekend, heck I barely sat in front of the computer. I was busy doing stuff around the house and hanging out with Dylan. I will get them up soon, I promise.

I am also working on a minor tweaking of the site. I plan on splitting it into two blogs, one for Family-related stuff and another for Technology related stuff. Hopefully this will make it easier to read and follow. I won’t go from rambling about the kids in one post to talking about the latest PC Games or the Wii in the next.

Two things happened yesterday. The first is that I got my hands on the PC Version of Transformers - The Game to check it out. The second is I loaded it up on my Vista machine, it is the first game I have loaded on there. Now this machine is no slouch, it has 2GB OCZ RAM, an AMD Fx-55 (overclocked), and an XFX 8800GTX. So I load up the Alcohol 120% image and install the game no problem. The into looks great, everything is looking good until I get to the first menu.

One of the amazing things about having an infant is the amount of time you get to watch TV.

Seriously. Here is what I mean. I get to dothe final feeding of the day for Marissa, at about 10pm each night I give her a bottle. Then I get her to fall asleep and put her to bed. This whole process takes anywhere from 60-90 minutes and there is not much to do other than watch TV. So I have taken to watching one of three things normally, the NY Mets, Discovery HD Theater, and The National Geographic Channel in HD. Yeah, sometimes I watch something else, but it is usually one of those three.
