Everything you never wanted to know about the Neves family

This pissed me off. First off, I do not think for one second that Willie is the problem. Is it his fault that Heilman and Wagner have both had several really bad games? Is it his fault players get injured? Or simply don’t play well? Yes, he is supposed to manage and motivate but there is only so much a single person can do. But we can argue this back and forth for eternity as to what is and isn’t the coaches fault.
What we can’t argue about is the totally classless, spineless, rude, and inappropriate way they went about it. Firing a manager via a press release and e-mail at 3:15am ET is simply unacceptable. You don’t even break up with a high school girlfriend like that. If you want to fire the guy in in a damn plane, fly to LA, and do it in person. The ownership of the Mets just lost any creditability they had with me. This is almost enough to make me a Yankee fan…. well. Not quite, but still, you get the picture.
Shame on the Wilpons and Minaya. Why don’t they fire the GM, after all he is the one responsible for putting together the overpriced- underachieving team?

I don’t understand, what do the NY Giants have to do to get a little respect? I mean they gave the Patriots a run for their money in the final game of the season, beat Tampa, Dallas, and Green Bay on the road to make it to the SuperBowl, something no NFC team has ever done. They have won 10 straight on the road, something no NFL team has ever done. Played Green Bay in -1 (024 with windchill) weather AT Lambeau, and won. Yet they are not only underdogs to New England for the SuperBowl (which I expected) but by 14 points! 14 points!!!!
The Pats only beat them by 3 last time and since then the Giants have played better and the Pats worse. I mean the Pats only beat San Diego by 9 points, yet the oddsmakers expect us to believe they will beat the Giants by more than 2 touchdowns? No respect. You hear that defense, they have no respect for you. If that doesn’t motivate the D and Mr Spagnolo, nothing will.
Now, where is the number of my bookie…….

LIPA, also known as the Long Island Power Authority, sucks. Why you ask? Well, I am glad you asked, ’cause I got a list of reasons….
Shall we start with how they rob Long Islanders blind? Instead of applying for rate increases the past several years, which is a process that has to go through the NY State Public Services Commission and is subject to a great deal of scrutiny, they have used the increase in fuel prices to hike up our rates by tagging on a “fuel surcharge”. This has increased rates something like 30% if you believe the politicians. Add to that the fact that they have a surplus of these surcharges and it makes you wonder why they are asking for a 3% rate increase.
But closer to home, literally, is the fact that here in Levittown, Saddle Lane to be exact, the power seems to go out every time someone sneezes to hard. Whichoccurs probably about 8-10 times a year. Now I am not talking about the times that it goies out and comes back on in 15 minutes. No, these are the multi-hour break out the generator type outages that happen 8-10 time a year. It has gotten to the point where I think I just might have to write my local county and state representatives to complain, and get my neighbors to sign the letter. Maybe then LIPA will do something to actually fix the problem so the power actually stays on.

I got this email this morning… I couldn’t agree more.

Here’s a politician I could vote for. Wonder how many of our current crop of hopefuls have the guts to do this - and mean it ….. regardless of race, religion, ethnic background. The candidates, the political parties, and all citizens should read this -and act !
One country - with English as the language of the land…..

America Needs A Leader Like This!
[]
Prime Minister John Howard - Australia
Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law were told on Wednesday to get out of Australia , as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks. A day after a group of mainstream Muslim leaders pledged loyalty to Australia and her Queen at a special meeting with Prime Minister John Howard, he and his Ministers made it clear that extremists would face a crackdown. Treasurer Peter Costello, seen as heir apparent to Howard, hinted that some radical clerics could be asked to leave the country if they did not accept that Australia was a secular state, and its laws were made by parliament. “If those are not your values, if you want a country which has Sharia law or a theocratic state, then Australia is not for you”, he said on National Television “I’d be saying to clerics who are teaching that there are two laws governing people in Australia : one the Australian law and another Islamic law that is false. If you can’t agree with parliamentary law, independent courts, democracy, and would prefer Sharia law and have the opportunity to go to another country, which practices it, perhaps, then, that’s a better option”, Costello said. Asked whether he meant radical clerics would be forced to leave, he said those with dual citizenship could possibly be asked to move to the other country. Education Minister Brendan Nelson later told reporters that Muslims who did not want to accept local values should “clear off. Basically people who don’t want to be Australians, and who don’t want, to live by Australian values and understand them, well then, they can basically clear off”, he said.

Now, I don’t consider myself a racist, but maybe to some people I am. And I don’t have a problem with people immigrating to the US, hell 99% of the citizens are descendants from or are immigrants. What I do have a problem with is when people abuse ‘the system’. What do I mean by that? Well, let’s start by looking at the differences between citizens, immigrants, and illegal immigrants. Citizens are people who were either born in this country of have jumped through whatever hoops it is they have to jump through to get their citizenship. They have social security numbers, pay taxes, vote, etc. They have all the rights that come with being a citizen. Legal immigrants are people who have immigrated here through the normal channels and most of them are working on becoming citizens. These people have tax ID numbers (or do they get social security numbers, I don’t know) and pay taxes. They are basically like citizens but lack a few rights that you get when becoming a citizen, and they can’t run for President. Illiegal immigrants are people who snuck into the country, were brought in illegally, or came over legally but did not leave when they were supposed to. They do not have social security numbers, they do not pay taxes, and are not “part of the system.” For this discussion we will consider citizens and legal immigrants as if they were one in the same.
Now that we got that out of the way, lets look at what has my shorts in a knot….

I found out on Friday, after handing in my resignation, that my current employer will not pay me for the accrued and earned vacation days that I have not used. And they get away with it because they include that little tidbit in the employee handbook, you know the one you get AFTER you join the company. So I figured, fine, I would just go tell my manager that I want to move my last day back and take vacation that week. Nope. Can’t do it. And any vacation I try to take now would not get approved. So I couldn’t even take the days this week.

I guess it is safe to post this now since I got everything in writing and I am handing in my resignation at CGS tomorrow. I don’t think anyone there reads this. If they do, they will have warning of what is to come. Simply put, I got a new job as a Technical Specialist at a company called Ninth House.

For those of you who complain that I do not upload photos often enough, and you know who you are, I will be uploading some later today (since it is already Wed) and updating the links on the right for the photo albums.
